Epic Big Bend Elopement in Glacier National Park, Montana
Kaycee and Tanner’s Big Bend Glacier National Park Montana elopement in July felt like the kind of day you wish you could bottle up and relive.
The day began at Kaycee’s cozy A-frame Airbnb cabin. It was just her and her hair and makeup artist that morning, taking their time, listening to music and easing into the day. She stepped into her dress, pulled on her cowboy boots before heading outside where she and Tanner had their first look. It was sweet and private and the perfect way to start the day before heading into Glacier National Park.
We met up with their family at a pullout inside the park, and almost instantly Glacier started showing off. Wildlife sightings kicked off the moment we arrived. On the drive up to their ceremony site, we spotted a mama black bear and her baby cub and once we arrived at their ceremony location, a pair of deer casually crossed the road and lingered nearby. They even ended up in the background as Kaycee and Tanner walked down to their ceremony vista.
Their ceremony took place at a stunning valley overlook in Big Bend within Glacier National Park, with mountains stretching endlessly behind them. They exchanged private vows surrounded by their family and those curious deer nearby. It felt peaceful and powerful all at once. Afterward, they cut their cake and spent time soaking in the moment with their family, laughing, hugging, and just being together before the three of us headed off for the next part of the adventure.
The rest of the afternoon was pure Glacier National Park magic. We drove deeper into the park to a lake overlook where we went for a relaxed hike. Along the way we saw baby ground squirrels, tons of marmots, and dozens of mountain goats, including several baby goats that completely stole the show. We paused at the overlook and just watched them play and taking in the scenery. On the drive back down, more wildlife greeted us, more deer, more marmots, more tiny squirrels. It genuinely felt like Glacier National Park was celebrating right alongside them.
We wrapped up the day with a scenic drive, stopping at some of my favorite sunset pullouts before returning to their ceremony location for blue hour lantern photos. As the sky softened into twilight and the mountains faded into silhouette, Kaycee and Tanner stood wrapped up in each other with lantern light glowing around them. It was the perfect ending to a quintessential Glacier National Park elopement day.
