Gorgeous Hurricane Ridge + Rainforest Elopement in Olympic National Park
Isabella and Chris’s September elopement in Olympic National Park was one of those days that felt intentional from the very first second. We met before sunrise at Hurricane Ridge during blue hour, when the mountains were still quiet and no one else was around. There’s something really special about beginning a wedding day before the world fully wakes up, and it set the tone for everything that followed.
We took a back road deeper into the ridge while we waited for the sun to rise, finding a secluded spot where Isabella and Chris changed into their wedding attire. As the first light crested over the mountain peaks, they shared their first look, and it was completely worth the early wake-up call. Right there, surrounded by endless Olympic mountain views, they also shared a private first dance. Just the two of them, music playing softly, the sun rising behind them.
After soaking in the sunrise with some portraits along Hurricane Ridge, we made our way down into Port Angeles for a quick coffee stop before continuing our scenic drive through Olympic National Park. We drove through turquoise blue alpine lakes and mountain peaks all the way to the coast where lush rainforest can be found, and that contrast is one of the reasons an Olympic National Park elopement is so special. You truly get everything in one day.
We met up with their closest friends in the rainforest and took a light hike to a beautiful clearing where a curved tree formed what felt like a natural wedding arch. I loved this spot because it feels like it was designed for a ceremony, yet feels completely untouched. Isabella and Chris exchanged private vows there and incorporated meaningful Filipino traditions into their ceremony, including the lasso and veil ceremony and the 13 coins ritual. Watching their culture woven into the landscape was such a beautiful moment that I will always remember.
After the ceremony, everyone gathered for group portraits, celebratory drinks, and heartfelt toasts. Their friends were so genuinely excited to be there, fully present, fully supportive. You could feel how deeply loved they are. One of their biggest priorities was spending real time with the people who showed up for them, and they created space for that throughout the day.
Once the celebration wound down, the three of us explored more of the rainforest together, taking our time with couples portraits and before saying our goodbyes. They wanted a plan with structure but also room to breathe and follow whatever emotions came up, and that’s exactly how it unfolded.
Isabella and Chris, thank you for letting me be a part of such an intentional and meaningful day. Thank you for inviting me into your story and for welcoming me so warmly into your celebration with your loved ones.
